Rainy Day in South Korea Halts BMW Ladies Championship
The highly anticipated BMW Ladies Championship in Paju, South Korea, hit a snag on Friday as torrential rain washed out most of the second round. Not a single player was able to complete their round, leaving the tournament in limbo.
Leaders Hold Steady Despite Interruption
Australian Hannah Green, South African Ashleigh Buhai, and South Korean Jenny Shin had dominated the first round, each carding an impressive 8-under 64 at the Seowon Valley Country Club. When play resumed briefly on Friday, Green maintained her lead, moving to 12-under for the tournament after nine holes. Buhai trailed closely behind, two strokes back at 10-under, also after nine holes.
Saturday Showdown Awaits
With the second round incomplete, organizers have rescheduled its completion for Saturday, ahead of the third round. Fortunately, the forecast looks promising, with no rain expected for the remainder of the tournament, which is set to conclude on Sunday.
Star-Studded Field Battles for Glory
This year’s BMW Ladies Championship boasts an impressive lineup, featuring eight of the LPGA Tour’s top 10 players. Additionally, 17 of the 18 winners from this season are vying for the title. The only notable absentee is American Nelly Korda, who withdrew due to a neck injury. As the tournament gets back on track, fans can expect thrilling competition from the world’s best female golfers.
