A Century of Excellence: Boston Bruins Unveil Limited-Edition Jerseys
As the Boston Bruins prepare to celebrate their 100th game, they’re doing it in style. On Thursday, the team unveiled special, limited-edition uniforms that will be worn against the Montreal Canadiens on December 1. This historic matchup marks the 100th anniversary of the Bruins’ first game against the Montreal Maroons on December 1, 1924.
A Blend of Past and Future
The new jerseys combine the best of both worlds, blending elements of the past with a vision for the future. The anniversary crest is a stunning fusion of the vintage spokes worn by legends like Bobby Orr and Ray Bourque, alongside the modern varsity “B” that has been a part of the franchise’s identity since 2007.
Nodding to the 80s
The jersey’s design draws inspiration from the 1980s, a decade that saw the Bruins achieve four 100-win seasons. The sleeves and socks feature a modern take on traditional striping, paying homage to previous players who wore the iconic Spoked-B. A new centennial patch adds a touch of elegance, incorporating metallic gold accents and a nod to December 1.
A Tribute to the Fans
According to Boston Bruins president Cam Neely, the jersey design was carefully crafted to make the Centennial Game a special moment for both the organization and its fans. “There are so many elements for both fans and the players to enjoy,” Neely said. One of the most unique features is the inclusion of the team’s core values – tradition, grit, passion, and heart – embedded on the bottom hemline, alongside the score of their first game displayed on the collar.
A Historic Celebration
The Centennial Game promises to be an unforgettable experience, and these limited-edition jerseys are the perfect way to commemorate this milestone. Get ready to celebrate 100 years of Bruins history in style!
