Nathan Cleary Puts Rumors to Rest
Recent speculation surrounding Nathan Cleary’s future in the NRL has been put to bed by the man himself. In an interview with Sky Sports TV, Cleary denied any plans to join an English Super League club, stating that a move abroad is not on the horizon.
A Show of Support
Cleary was spotted at Old Trafford wearing a Hull Kingston Rovers jersey, showing his support for his friend and former Panthers teammate Tyrone May. The Penrith ace had traveled to Manchester to attend the Super League grand final and was accompanied by his girlfriend, Manchester City star Mary Fowler.
Rumors Quashed
When questioned about the possibility of joining a British club, Cleary responded with a smile, “Not any time soon, to be honest.” He went on to explain that his visit to the UK was simply a break and an opportunity to watch Fowler play.
Celebrations Continue
Cleary’s appearance at the Super League grand final came just days after his own NRL title victory with the Panthers. The team’s fourth straight title win still feels surreal, according to Cleary, who expressed his gratitude for the achievement.
Back to Reality
Despite Cleary’s support, Hull KR ultimately fell short against Wigan, losing 9-2. Meanwhile, Fowler was set to return to action with Manchester City on Sunday, facing off against Liverpool in the Women’s Super League.
A Supporting Partner
Cleary will undoubtedly be cheering on Fowler from the sidelines as she takes to the pitch at Anfield. With his own future in the NRL secured, Cleary can focus on supporting his partner and enjoying some well-deserved downtime after a successful season.
