Marshall’s pioneering tenure has left an indelible mark on the franchise, transforming the organization into a beacon of inclusivity and positivity.
In a heartfelt letter to Mavericks employees, Marshall reflected on her journey, stating, “My initial three-year commitment has more than doubled in time. I treasure every moment of our shared journey. Together, we’ve elevated the Mavs, enriched our communities, and advanced our industry. You’ve made me a better person, and I pray that I’m leaving a lasting legacy.”

Her tireless efforts have led to the appointment of women and people of color in key leadership positions, earning her widespread recognition and admiration.
A seasoned executive with a background in human resources and diversity, Marshall has also been instrumental in deepening the Mavericks’ connections with the Dallas-Fort Worth community through philanthropic initiatives, social justice outreach, and activism. Her vision has enabled the franchise to launch a new TV partnership, providing free access to Mavericks games for approximately 10 million Texans, and oversee $30 million in upgrades to the American Airlines Center.
Mavericks Governor Patrick Dumont praised Marshall, saying, “Cynt is a force of nature, bringing people together with her extraordinary leadership. Her impact on this franchise will be felt for generations to come.” Mark Cuban, the team’s former owner, added, “Cynt has led the Mavericks to unprecedented heights with grace and integrity, leaving a shining legacy that will continue to inspire the community.”
As Marshall prepares to pass the torch, she will remain involved with the franchise as a consultant until December 2025. The Richmond, California, native, who turns 65 on December 15, will undoubtedly continue to inspire and empower future generations of leaders.
