**F**king Hell: DePaul Women’s Coach Doug Bruno Out Indefinitely Due to Health Issues

In a surprise announcement, DePaul University revealed that its esteemed women’s basketball coach, Doug Bruno, will be taking an indefinite leave of absence due to a recent health scare. The 73-year-old coaching legend is currently recuperating at home and will rejoin the team when his health permits.

In Bruno’s stead, associate head coach Jill M. Pizzotti will assume the reins as interim coach. This marks a significant moment in DePaul’s athletic history, as Bruno has been an integral part of the university’s basketball program for nearly four decades.

Throughout his illustrious career, Bruno has racked up an impressive 786 victories, leading his teams to 26 NCAA tournament appearances, including four Sweet 16 berths. Currently, he ranks 10th among active Division I women’s basketball coaches in terms of career wins.

As Bruno enters his 50th year of coaching, his legacy continues to inspire generations of athletes. With 39 years at DePaul under his belt, as well as stints at Loyola Chicago and the Chicago Hustle, a women’s professional team that operated from 1978 to 1981, his impact on the sport is undeniable.

The Blue Demons will face their first test without Bruno on October 18, when they take on an exhibition match, followed by their regular season opener on November 6. As the team navigates this transition, fans and supporters alike will be eagerly awaiting Bruno’s return to the sidelines.
