Get Ready for High-Octane Action: IndyCar Revs Up for Arlington Street Race in 2026!
In a groundbreaking partnership, the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers’ official events partner are joining forces to bring IndyCar racing to the streets of Arlington in 2026. The IndyCar Arlington Grand Prix will take place in March 2026, featuring a 2.73-mile circuit that winds its way through the city’s vibrant sports and entertainment district, including iconic landmarks AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field.
This exciting new venture marks IndyCar’s return to Texas after a brief hiatus, with the series previously racing at Texas Motor Speedway from 1997 to 2023. IndyCar owner Roger Penske, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, Rangers COO Neil Leibman, and other motorsports luminaries will gather on Tuesday to unveil more details about the event.
“We’re building something truly special here – a global spectacle that will leave fans on the edge of their seats,” Penske exclaimed. “Everyone involved is fully invested in delivering an unforgettable weekend of racing and entertainment for the people of Arlington.”
The Arlington event signals a new chapter for IndyCar in Texas, with Penske Entertainment forging a strong partnership with the Cowboys and Rangers. The market remains crucial to IndyCar, and Penske’s existing relationship with Jones – dating back to the 2006 Super Bowl in Detroit – has paved the way for this innovative collaboration.
“We’re thrilled to team up with the Texas Rangers, Penske Entertainment, and the City of Arlington to bring the thrill of Grand Prix racing to our vibrant entertainment district,” Jones stated. “This event is a testament to the vision we had for AT&T Stadium over 15 years ago – to create a world-class destination for sports and entertainment.”
Motorsports veteran Bill Miller has been appointed president of the Grand Prix of Arlington, bringing his expertise from stints as president of California Speedway and senior vice president of operations at SEMA. With the IndyCar Arlington Grand Prix, the city is revving up for an unforgettable experience that will put it firmly on the motorsports map.
