**COLLEGE FOOTBALL: THE WILDEST, MOST UNPREDICTABLE RIDE IN SPORTS**

A talented defensive tackle is set to leave the University of Alabama, seeking a fresh start where he can capitalize on his impressive size and athleticism. Jehiem Oatis, a junior and former top 40 overall recruit, has decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal after seeing his playing time dwindle this season.

Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 325 pounds, Oatis boasts a rare combination of size and agility that has NFL scouts taking notice. Despite starting 13 games in his first two years with the Crimson Tide, Oatis’ snaps have decreased significantly this season, averaging just 16 snaps per game in the four games he’s played.

The Mississippi native cited playing time as the primary reason for his departure, feeling that a change of scenery would be beneficial for his development. Oatis has accumulated 57 career tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks, as well as an impressive five career deflected passes – a high number for an interior lineman.

Alabama defensive coordinator Kane Wommack attributed Oatis’ limited playing time to injuries, stating that he “has not been able to perform or produce the way that any of us would like.” However, Oatis has been fully healthy since the end of training camp and is eager to find a new program where he can showcase his skills.

As a highly sought-after transfer, Oatis is expected to draw interest from top programs across the country. He’s expressed a desire to remain in the SEC or transfer to a prominent school in the Big Ten or ACC. With his redshirt season intact, Oatis will have a year of eligibility remaining, making him a prized commodity in the transfer market.

Before making his decision, Oatis informed Alabama coaches and plans to finish out the semester, staying on track to earn his degree in sports management. He’ll look to pursue a master’s degree at his new institution. With his size, athleticism, and experience, Oatis is poised to make a significant impact at his next destination.
