**”POSTECOGLOU’S HUMILIATING LOSS: ‘WORST DEFEAT OF MY CAREER’”**

In a stunning turnaround, Tottenham Hotspur’s 3-2 loss to Brighton has left manager Ange Postecoglou reeling, labeling it his most disheartening defeat since taking the reins. After dominating the first half with goals from Brennan Johnson and James Maddison, Spurs inexplicably crumbled in the second, conceding three times.

Postecoglou was scathing in his assessment, lamenting his team’s lack of fight and complacency. “We got ahead of ourselves and paid the price,” he said. “It’s unacceptable to accept defeat like that. We usually battle for every inch, but today we didn’t.”

The loss is a significant blow to Tottenham’s top-four ambitions, leaving them in ninth place with 10 points from seven matches. Brighton, on the other hand, leapfrogged into sixth, two points clear of Spurs.

Postecoglou attributed the defeat to a mentality issue, suggesting his team had become too comfortable. “When things are going smoothly, it’s easy to get complacent. But football has a way of humbling you, and that’s exactly what happened today.”

The manager took full responsibility for the loss, acknowledging that his team’s lack of competitiveness was the root cause. “We lost every battle, every duel. If you’re not willing to put in the effort, no tactical plan will work.”
