Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Justin Fields is making a strong case for a more prominent role in the team’s offense. In last Sunday’s loss to the Indianapolis Colts, Fields showcased his playmaking abilities, leading the Steelers to a near-comeback in the second half.

One particular play stood out – a 20-yard gain to tight end Darnell Washington, where Fields side-armed a pass while off-balance, and Washington stiff-armed a defender and hurdled another. The play sparked a surge in momentum for the Steelers, who trailed by three scores at the time.

Fields’ performance in the second half was impressive, racking up 192 passing yards and one touchdown, as well as two rushing touchdowns and 41 yards on seven carries. His ability to extend plays with his legs and make throws on the run has given the Steelers a new dimension on offense.

Offensive coordinator Arthur Smith praised Fields’ performance, saying, “When somebody gets that kind of flow, he damn near took the game over… When that happens and you feel it with a player, it didn’t matter what I called, you felt him rolling.”

Coach Mike Tomlin also expressed confidence in Fields, saying, “I didn’t feel any blink in Justin… In terms of the things that I’ve grown to know and understand about him, I think it’s really on display in moments like that.”

The Steelers will look to build on Fields’ momentum as they face off against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night. With Fields at the helm, the team is hoping to come out stronger in the first half and avoid the slow starts that have plagued them thus far.
