Manchester United’s manager is calling for calm and patience amidst growing pressure to deliver results. The team’s recent performance has been under scrutiny, particularly after their 3-3 draw with FC Porto in the Europa League, which marked their fourth game without a win.
The manager acknowledged that the team is struggling to find its rhythm, citing the need for new signings to integrate into the squad. He pointed to the example of summer signing Manuel Ugarte, who has had a difficult start since his move from Paris Saint-Germain. Ugarte was left out of the Porto game, with the manager opting for a more familiar midfield trio.
The manager emphasized that Ugarte needs time to adjust to the team’s game model, his new teammates, and the intensity of the Premier League. He also mentioned that other players, such as Rasmus Højlund, are still finding their footing after returning from injury.
Despite the challenges, the manager remains optimistic about the team’s potential. He expressed his pleasure at Højlund’s return to fitness and hinted that the team’s fortunes could change by the end of the season.
Looking ahead to the crucial trip to Aston Villa, the manager will have captain Bruno Fernandes available after his red card was overturned. The team will also make a late decision on Kobbie Mainoo’s fitness, who missed the Porto game with an injury.
As Manchester United prepares to face an in-form Villa side, fresh from their Champions League victory over Bayern Munich, the manager’s words serve as a reminder that patience and perseverance are necessary for the team to find its footing and achieve success.
