**COLLEGE FOOTBALL: THE F**KING WEEKEND PREVIEW**

University of Wisconsin’s Star Running Back Takes a Step Back from Football

In a surprise move, Wisconsin’s leading rusher, Chez Mellusi, has decided to take a break from football due to a series of lingering injuries. The university announced the news on Thursday, citing Mellusi’s ongoing struggles to recover from multiple setbacks.

“Chez has shown incredible determination and perseverance in the face of numerous injuries, but unfortunately, his body hasn’t responded as he had hoped,” a team representative stated. “We’re committed to supporting Chez in any way possible and hope to see him back on the field in the future.”

Although Mellusi is stepping away from the team, the door remains open for his potential return later this season if he chooses to do so. The sixth-year senior has accumulated 232 yards and three touchdowns this year, despite battling a range of injuries.

Mellusi’s collegiate career has been marked by a series of setbacks, including a torn ACL in 2021, a broken arm in 2022, and a broken leg and ankle in 2022, which caused him to miss nine games last season. However, he made a remarkable comeback this year, rushing for a season-high 74 yards in the opener against Western Michigan.

The loss of Mellusi is a significant blow to the Wisconsin offense, which has already suffered the loss of starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke to a season-ending ACL tear earlier this month. The Badgers, currently 2-2, will face Purdue on Saturday.
