Renowned boxing champion, Liam Paro, is set to put his IBF junior welterweight title on the line against undefeated contender, Richardson Hitchins, on December 7th in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This highly anticipated matchup marks Paro’s first title defense since his stunning upset victory over Subriel Matias in June, where he claimed the 140-pound title in a thrilling decision win.
The 28-year-old Australian southpaw, ranked fourth in the junior welterweight division, will face off against Hitchins, a 18-0 fighter from New York, in a neutral location for both boxers. Hitchins is coming off a controversial decision win over Gustavo Lemos in April and was initially slated to face former titleholder Jose Pedraza before promoter Eddie Hearn opted for this exciting 50-50 showdown between two of his top 140-pound fighters.
