Detroit’s Coach Makes Amends with Quarterback After Historic Performance

In the aftermath of Monday night’s thrilling victory over the Seattle Seahawks, Detroit’s coach expressed remorse for not awarding quarterback Jared Goff a game ball to commemorate his record-breaking achievement. Goff completed all 18 of his passes, a feat that went unnoticed by the coach in the heat of the moment.

The coach rectified the situation on Tuesday, presenting Goff with a well-deserved game ball. “We found one,” the coach said with a smile. “Normally, we give out an immediate game ball after the game, and then we have another one or two that show up the next day. So, it was an easy one to get him that one.”

Goff’s impressive display didn’t stop there. He also caught a 7-yard pass from teammate Amon-Ra St. Brown and launched the ball into the stands, a move that left the coach in awe. “Oh, I saw it, that was unbelievable, it was outstanding,” the coach exclaimed. “It was a hell of a throw. I thought he was going to hit the mascot at first!”

Goff’s remarkable performance earned him 292 yards passing and two touchdowns, propelling Detroit to a 3-1 record. His 95.1 QBR was the highest by a Detroit quarterback since the metric was introduced in 2006. Additionally, his 16.2 yards per attempt set a new “Monday Night Football” record.

When asked about his historic night, Goff remained humble, saying, “I’m just happy we got the win.”
