A Professional Football League Investigation Finds Insufficient Evidence in Sexual Assault Allegations Against Former Kicker

A thorough investigation by the professional football league into allegations of sexual assault against a former kicker has concluded, finding insufficient evidence to support claims that he violated the league’s personal conduct policy. The investigation, which included interviews with 30 individuals, wrapped up last week, and the league considers the matter closed from a disciplinary standpoint.

However, the attorney representing the two women who made the allegations expressed confusion over the league’s conclusion, stating that the NFL’s investigators have yet to speak with his clients. “We are still working to schedule a meeting between the NFL’s investigators and our clients,” the attorney said. “It’s puzzling to me that anyone could draw conclusions at this point.”

The allegations stem from an incident that occurred on a chartered flight to London last year, where the two women, who were working as flight attendants, accused the kicker of sexual assault. The women initially filed a lawsuit anonymously but later refiled with their names after a court ruling.

The lawsuit alleges that the kicker engaged in inappropriate behavior, including grinding against the women and attempting to kiss one of them. It also accuses the team of failing to provide a safe environment and ignoring league rules regarding alcohol and drug use on team flights.

The kicker’s attorney has filed a request for admissions, which includes claims that the women made sexually explicit social media posts, used a racial slur, and had previous sexual relationships with NFL players while working.

The team had signed the kicker to a one-year deal worth $2 million but did not re-sign him after the contract expired. He later signed a one-year, $6 million contract with another team but was cut shortly after the lawsuit was filed. Despite the controversy, several teams are reportedly monitoring the situation, and the kicker may find a new home soon.
