Houston’s Star Wideout Shines Bright
In a thrilling 24-20 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston’s talented wide receiver Nico Collins stole the show, hauling in 11 catches for 151 yards and a touchdown. His impressive performance earned him high praise from his coach, who dubbed him an “All-Pro” caliber player.
Collins’ remarkable start to the season has cemented his status as the team’s number one wideout, surpassing expectations that the receiving trio would share the ball. With a league-leading 489 receiving yards, Collins is on pace to shatter his personal goal of 1,500 yards and potentially break the NFL record.
Quarterback C.J. Stroud, who threw the winning touchdown pass to running back Dare Ogunbowale with 18 seconds left, credited Collins for being his go-to target. “Nico is open,” Stroud said, praising Collins’ quick reflexes and ability to make plays.
Collins remained humble, attributing his success to his hard work and dedication. “It’s a marathon, it’s a long game, it’s a long season,” he said. “I just need to continue being myself, block out distractions, and stay focused.”
With his strong start, Collins has set the bar high for himself, but his coach believes he has the talent and work ethic to achieve greatness. “Nico is deserving of all the praise and credit he’s getting,” the coach said. “He’s one of the top receivers in the league, and he’s showing it every single week.”
