Baltimore’s Speedster Sets Franchise Mark
In an electrifying display of power and speed, running back sensation Derrick Henry etched his name into the record books on Sunday night, setting a new benchmark for the Baltimore Ravens. On the very first play of the game against the Buffalo Bills, Henry burst through a gaping hole on the right side of the line, sprinting 87 yards untouched to the end zone.
This remarkable feat marks the longest run in the Ravens’ 29-year history, a testament to Henry’s explosive abilities. After a sluggish start to the season, Henry has finally found his rhythm, building on last week’s impressive 151-yard performance against the Dallas Cowboys.
According to advanced statistics, Henry reached a blistering 21.29 miles per hour on his record-breaking run, tying for the fourth-fastest speed by a ball-carrier this season. This marks Henry’s eighth-fastest speed since 2018, showcasing his enduring athleticism at 30 years old.
This remarkable touchdown run also solidifies Henry’s position among the elite, as he now boasts three career rushing touchdowns of at least 85 yards – tied with Lamar Miller for second-most since 2000. Only Chris Johnson, with four such scores, stands ahead of him.
