In a pivotal matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints tight end Taysom Hill was forced to exit the game in the second quarter due to an abdominal injury. Despite his valiant efforts, Hill did not return to the field, and his status was officially downgraded to “out” in the third quarter.
Prior to his departure, Hill made a significant impact, scoring two rushing touchdowns in the first half and providing a crucial block that paved the way for a 13-yard gain by running back Alvin Kamara. Additionally, he converted a critical fourth-and-1 play, gaining 7 yards and setting up one of his own touchdowns. These scores marked Hill’s first of the season, following a chest injury that sidelined him in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys.
Hill’s injury woes continued as he was transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation, where he was diagnosed with a bruised lung. This development came on the heels of his absence from last week’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
During the second quarter, Hill clutched at his chest and abdomen area following a play, prompting him to jog to the sideline and seek medical attention. He was swiftly escorted to the locker room by athletic trainers and did not reappear.
The Saints also suffered another setback when linebacker Willie Gay exited the game with a hand injury, joining Demario Davis, who missed his first career game due to a hamstring issue. This left the Saints shorthanded at linebacker, further complicating their defensive efforts.
