**COLLEGE FOOTBALL: THE WILD RIDE OF F**KING CHAOS**

LAS VEGAS — In a resounding statement, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) proved it’s more than capable of thriving without its former starting quarterback, Matthew Sluka. With a dominating 59-14 victory over Fresno State, the Rebels improved to 4-0 and solidified their position as a top contender in the Mountain West Conference.

Hajj-Malik Williams, a sixth-year senior and transfer from Campbell, shone in his first start, throwing for 182 yards, rushing for 119 yards, and accounting for four total touchdowns. UNLV coach Barry Odom praised Williams’ performance, saying, “He was effective, efficient, and our offensive line did a tremendous job protecting him.”

Wide receiver Ricky White III led the Rebels with a season-high 10 catches for 127 yards and two touchdowns, crediting Williams for the team’s success. “He’s a great quarterback that we can rally behind and go by his pace,” White said.

The Rebels’ victory marked a significant milestone, snapping a six-game losing streak against Fresno State and securing the program’s first 4-0 start since 1976. The team’s defense was equally impressive, producing four interceptions and four sacks while limiting Fresno State to just 30 rushing yards.

With the win, UNLV remains in the hunt for a spot in the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff. The Rebels will face another Power 4 opponent, 3-1 Syracuse, on Friday, providing an opportunity to strengthen their playoff résumé.

Coach Odom emphasized the team’s focus on the next game, saying, “Our guys will flip the page really quickly. We’re ready to move on and get ready for the next challenge.”
