**F**king Dodgers Bench Freeman to Nurse Sore Ankle Before Postseason

**Rockies Series Sees Key Dodgers Players Sit Out**

The Los Angeles Dodgers have opted to keep first baseman Freddie Freeman out of their three-game series against the Colorado Rockies, citing a sore ankle that requires rest. Freeman suffered the injury during Thursday’s National League West-clinching game, when he rolled his right foot attempting to avoid a tag at first base.

In addition to Freeman, the Dodgers have also left shortstop Miguel Rojas behind due to a torn adductor. According to manager Dave Roberts, traveling to high altitude wouldn’t have been beneficial for either player.

Despite Freeman’s absence, Roberts remains confident in his star player’s ability to bounce back in time for the NL Division Series next weekend. “He’s a warrior,” Roberts said. “He’ll do everything he can to get back on the field.”

With the Dodgers having secured a first-round bye in the postseason, their focus now shifts to fending off the Philadelphia Phillies for the NL’s top seed and the best overall record in MLB. While Roberts acknowledges the importance of winning, he’s also prioritizing the health and well-being of his relievers.

One player who will see action in all three games against the Rockies is Shohei Ohtani, who hit his National League-leading 54th home run and stole base No. 57 on Friday night. “He’s had a tremendous season,” Roberts said. “We want to give him every opportunity to reach his goals.”

Looking ahead, Roberts plans to give his team two days off early next week, encouraging them to recharge before returning to action. “They’ve played a lot of baseball this year,” he said. “I just want them to come back hungry and excited to get back to work.”
