**Marlins Manager to Miss Final Games Due to Family Health Issue**
In a surprise move, the Miami Marlins announced during Friday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays that their manager will be stepping away from the team for the remainder of the season. The reason behind this sudden departure is a personal one, as the manager tends to a health issue affecting a family member.
As a result, the team’s bench coach will take the reins for the final two games of the season, starting Saturday. This marks the manager’s second year at the helm of the Marlins, who had a successful 2023 campaign that ended in a playoff appearance. However, the team has struggled this season, currently holding the worst record in the National League.
Before transitioning to coaching, the manager enjoyed an 11-year playing career with several teams, including St. Louis, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and Cincinnati. He later joined the San Diego coaching staff in 2018 and served as bench coach for St. Louis in 2022, before being hired by the Marlins to replace their previous manager following the 2022 season.
