**F**K THE HATERS! JONAS TAKES DOWN MAYER IN THE RING AND ON ESPN’S WOMEN’S P4P LIST!

British Boxing Champion Natasha Jonas Secures Split-Decision Victory Against Mikaela Mayer

Natasha Jonas successfully defended her IBF welterweight title against Mikaela Mayer, winning by split decision at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, England. The judges’ scores were 96-94 and 96-95 in favor of Jonas, while the third judge scored it 97-93 for Mayer.

Jonas, a two-division champion and the first British woman to participate in boxing at the Olympic Games in 2012, demonstrated her exceptional skills throughout the fight. She started strong, landing powerful body punches and maintaining a high pace. Mayer, a former junior lightweight champion making her welterweight debut, fought back in the later rounds, causing damage to Jonas’ left eye and pushing her back with powerful right hands.

After the fight, Jonas expressed empathy for Mayer, stating, “I know she’s going to be devastated with the result because I’ve been there. It feels like the world is over. She is one of the top two people I’ve fought. She is very skilled, and her time will come again.”

Mayer believed she did enough to win and requested a rematch, saying, “I landed the cleaner shots. I think this fight is worth seeing again. Like she said, it was one of the toughest fights she’s had. I didn’t have a rematch clause on my side, but I’m hoping we can get this fight done again.”
