**FUCKING TRUTH ALERT** Ashlyn Watkins Benched Until Legal Drama Gets Sorted

**Sports Update: Coach Provides Insight on Suspended Player’s Status**

COLUMBIA, S.C. – In a recent press conference, University of South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley addressed the current situation surrounding suspended forward Ashlyn Watkins. The 6-foot-3 junior from Columbia has been sidelined since her arrest on August 31, when she was charged with first-degree assault and battery and kidnapping.

When asked about Watkins’ availability for the upcoming season, Coach Staley expressed uncertainty, stating, “Nothing has changed at this point. We’re waiting for her situation to resolve before making any decisions.” The coach emphasized that the team will not rush into anything until Watkins’ legal issues are settled.

Watkins, a key player for the Gamecocks, averaged 9.2 points and 7.4 rebounds per game last season, leading the team with 91 blocks. Her absence has left a void in the lineup, particularly with the departure of last season’s leading scorer, Kamilla Cardoso, who is now playing in the WNBA.

Despite being separated from the team, Watkins is reportedly doing well, according to Coach Staley. “She’s great,” the coach said, offering a glimmer of hope for the player’s future. Watkins is scheduled to appear in court on October 25, just weeks before the Gamecocks kick off their season on November 4 against Michigan in Las Vegas.
