Get Ready to Cheer On Your Favorite Teams!
The Bay Area’s beloved basketball team has just unveiled their brand-new retro uniforms for the upcoming 2024-25 season! This fresh look is a tribute to the team’s rich history, drawing inspiration from the iconic Philadelphia era that spanned from 1946 to 1962. This period was marked by two championship wins and the early years of the legendary Wilt Chamberlain.
As the team celebrates the 70th anniversary of their second championship win, they’re honoring the legacy of trailblazer Jackie Moore, who became the team’s first African American player in 1955. The all-white uniform features bold red and gold accents, with blue shadowing on the numbers and the team’s name emblazoned across the chest.
The team’s senior vice president of marketing, Amanda Chin, explained that the new uniform is a celebration of the team’s proud heritage and the pioneering spirit of players like Jackie Moore. This iconic look is a nod to the team’s history and the players who shaped their identity.
This isn’t the first time the team has paid homage to their Philadelphia roots. During the 2021-22 season, they wore a throwback road blue uniform, which saw star player Stephen Curry break the NBA’s all-time 3-point field goal record.
Mark your calendars for October 29, when the team will debut their new look against the New Orleans Pelicans!
