**Yankees Roster Update: Reliever Lands on Injured List, Rookie Called Up**
The New York Yankees have made a roster move, placing right-handed reliever Jake Cousins on the 15-day injured list due to a right pectoral strain. The move is retroactive to Friday. To fill the void, the team has recalled rookie right-handed reliever Clayton Beeter from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Cousins, 30, has had a solid season thus far, boasting a 2-1 record, one save, and a 2.37 ERA in 37 relief appearances. He has struck out 53 batters and walked 20 in 38 innings pitched. This marks his first season with the Yankees, following stints with the Milwaukee Brewers.
Beeter, 25, is set to make his second major league appearance, having debuted on March 29 against the Houston Astros, tossing a scoreless inning. In the minors, he has posted a combined 3-1 record, 2.08 ERA, and 56 strikeouts in 39 innings across 12 games (seven starts) for the Yankees’ Double-A and Triple-A affiliates. After recovering from a shoulder injury, Beeter has been on a roll, throwing seven scoreless innings in five outings.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone has been impressed with Beeter’s recent performances, describing him as “lights out” and praising his “really good stuff.” Boone believes Beeter has the potential to make a significant impact, saying, “He can be a factor.”
