Arsenal’s Manager Speaks Out on Red Card Controversy
Following a thrilling 2-2 draw between Arsenal and Manchester City, Arsenal’s manager expressed his frustration with the recent trend of red cards in the Premier League. Leandro Trossard’s sending off in the first-half stoppage time marked the second time in three games that an Arsenal player was dismissed in a similar manner.
The manager believes that this season will see at least 100 Premier League games featuring a sending off, citing the recent incidents as evidence. He questioned the consistency of refereeing decisions, pointing out that Jérémy Doku escaped punishment for delaying the restart during the first half.
When asked about expressing his true opinion on the incident, the manager chose to hold back, saying, “I have if I want to. Today I don’t want to.” Instead, he praised his team’s resilience in the face of adversity, saying, “The way the team competes is unbelievable. I’m so proud of them.”
Despite being outshot 20-0 in the second half, Arsenal’s manager took pride in his team’s performance, saying, “You cannot be thrown in a more difficult situation against that kind of opponent. The way we handled that situation was unbelievable.”
The draw saw Manchester City remain at the top of the table with 13 points, while Arsenal sit fourth with 11 points.
