The Brewers have secured their third National League Central title in four seasons, while the Yankees have clinched a playoff spot with a comfortable lead in the American League East. The Guardians have also punched their postseason ticket, followed by clinching the American League Central crown. The Dodgers have secured a playoff spot and are closing in on the National League West title, and the Phillies have clinched their third straight playoff spot and are on the verge of their first National League East title since 2011.

The Orioles’ magic number to secure their second straight postseason ticket is two, and the Astros’ magic number to clinch the American League West is also two. In the National League, the Padres’ magic number to secure a wild-card spot is at one.

If the Dodgers and Phillies tie for the best record, the Phillies would get the top seed due to a better head-to-head record against the Dodgers this season. Head-to-head season series would determine the number one American League seed if the Guardians finish the season tied with the American League East champ for the league’s best record: Guardians over Orioles; Yankees over Guardians. If the Yankees, Orioles, and Guardians all finish with the same record, Baltimore would get the American League’s top seed by virtue of intradivision record among the three teams.
