The Weekend Wrap-Up: Football, Video Games, and a Healthy Dose of Sanity
I spent the entire weekend indulging in my favorite pastimes: playing College Football 25 and watching real-life college football. Today, I’m sharing my personal thoughts on the sport, accompanied by some entertaining GIFs.
As a novice player of College Football 25 dynasty mode, I’m struggling to grasp the recruiting process. I’ve been spreading my recruiting hours thin across multiple prospects, only to be told that’s a rookie mistake. If anyone has tips on how to distribute those hours effectively, I’m all ears! What happens if I can’t fill all my scholarships? Will the game auto-fill them with decent players?
Moving on to real football, I’m still trying to wrap my head around Deion Sanders’ unconventional approach at Colorado. Despite their 3-1 record, it’s clear they’re not a top-tier team. Yet, their fans seem content with mediocrity, celebrating each win like it’s a national championship. It’s a fascinating phenomenon, to say the least.
On a more personal note, my beloved Bowling Green Falcons are having a remarkable season, despite their 1-2 record. We’ve pushed powerhouses Penn State and Texas A&M to the limit, and our tight end, Harold Fannin Jr., is a force to be reckoned with. I’m predicting a MAC championship this year!
My other favorite team, the Indiana Hoosiers, are also on a roll. With their new coach and talented players, they’re looking fierce. I’m proud to claim both teams as my own, given my personal connections to each.
Lastly, I want to address the elephant in the room: our society’s unhealthy obsession with football. We’ve reached a point where fans are miserable, regardless of their team’s performance. Twitter is filled with toxicity, and even casual comments are met with outrage. Can’t we just enjoy the game without taking it so seriously? Maybe we can learn from Colorado’s carefree approach and remember that football is, ultimately, a form of entertainment.
