As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare to kick off their season, it seems that superstar singer-songwriter Taylor Swift’s playbook ideas have yet to be implemented. Her boyfriend, All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce, revealed that Swift’s suggestions, which may be slightly biased towards tight end plays, have not yet reached head coach Andy Reid. “I know none of the plays have made it to Coach Reid yet, but if they ever do, I’ll make sure everyone knows it was her creation,” Kelce joked on the Rich Eisen Show.
As the Chiefs went 9-3 with Swift in attendance, including winning a second consecutive Super Bowl, the pop star developed a deep love and knowledge for the game, according to Kelce. In fact, quarterback Patrick Mahomes recently mentioned that Swift had been drawing up plays. However, Kelce noted that she tends to focus on tight end-centric plays. “She’s a little biased and just creates plays for me,” Kelce said, “so we’ll see if they can make it to Coach Reid’s office.”
It’s no secret that Swift has become a football enthusiast, and her relationship with Kelce has only fueled her passion. The singer even went so far as to appear on stage with Kelce during her Eras Tour stop in London, where he memorably carried her across the stage while donning a top hat and tux.
Kelce admitted that Swift made his preparation for the appearance easy, but he still had some apprehension. “It wasn’t a lot,” he said. “Taylor knew when the lights are on, I’m going to have some fun. She put me in a position where I didn’t have to do much for it to be a success.”
Their relationship has become a fascinating intersection of sports and celebrity, with both partners supporting each other’s passions. As the Chiefs gear up for the new season, it will be interesting to see if Swift’s playbook ideas make it to the field. One thing is certain – their love for each other and for football is undeniable.
