Holiday Detox: How I Rebooted My Diet in Just 3 Days

The Holiday Diet Dilemma: A Personal Struggle

The period between Thanksgiving and Christmas can be a challenging time for anyone trying to maintain a healthy diet. With holiday parties, travel, and family gatherings, it’s easy to get caught up in the festive spirit and overindulge in rich foods and drinks.

A Personal Confession

I, too, fell victim to the temptation of indulgence. After maintaining a steady weight throughout the football season, I found myself gaining a significant amount of weight between Thanksgiving and Christmas. A series of events, including a trip to New Orleans, a wedding, and a trip to Nashville for a DraftKings event, didn’t help my situation. When I stepped on the scale, I was shocked to see that I had reached 254 pounds.

A Desperate Solution

Desperate for a solution, I turned to a close friend who had recently completed a 3-day water fast. UFC founder Dana White is also a proponent of water fasting, so I decided to give it a try. What better time than during the holiday season?

Day 1: Water and Black Coffee

On the first day, I limited myself to water and black coffee. Surprisingly, it wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be, thanks to the lingering effects of my Nashville indulgence. I drank plenty of BodyArmor water throughout the day and felt relatively full.

Day 2: Beef Bone Broth

On the second day, I introduced beef bone broth into my diet, along with water and black coffee. I was surprised by how quickly I felt full after eating smaller portions. My stomach also felt significantly better, and I noticed an improvement in my skin, particularly around my nose, where acne had cleared up.

Day 3: The Final Push

On the third and final day, I continued to drink plenty of water and beef bone broth. I was thrilled to see that I had lost a total of 9 pounds in just three days. My energy levels had also improved significantly, and my skin looked healthier than ever.

Breaking the Fast

When I finally broke my fast with a skirt steak, eggs, and soup from my favorite breakfast spot, I was surprised by how full I felt. The water fast had been an incredibly positive experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to reset their diet.

The Real Challenge Begins

Now that I’ve undone the damage of the past three weeks, the real challenge begins. Can I maintain my weight and healthy habits throughout the holiday season? Only time will tell, but I’m determined to stay on track and avoid waiting until New Year’s to make a change.
