A New Era for Indiana Football
The impossible has happened: the Indiana Football program has achieved a historic 10-win season. Who would have thought that IU would open as 14-point favorites against Michigan? This unprecedented success has left fans like me ecstatic, despite the chaos that ensued on game day.
A Day of Drama
My plans to watch the entire game were derailed due to a bomb threat at LaGuardia airport, which caused my flights to be canceled. I was headed to Tallahassee with Nicky Smokes, but instead, I was left stranded. If you’re an Indiana fan living near Tallahassee, come join me at Madison Social for some free High Noons!
A Winning Formula
Although I only got to watch the first quarter before taking off on a Wi-Fi-less flight, I knew exactly what to expect from IU’s performance. The Hoosiers would hang 40 points on their opponent, the defense would force timely turnovers, and special teams would make a game-changing play. It was far from a nail-biting 20-15 finish.
A Coach Worth Keeping
I’m thrilled that contract talks between Cignetti and the Hoosiers have begun. Indiana must be prepared to offer a blank check to keep this coaching genius. The football program has historically lacked significant investment, but that’s about to change. I’d gladly donate 10% of my paycheck to the Church of Cignetti if he stays on board.
The Waiting Game
It’s agonizing to wait two weeks for the Indiana vs Ohio State matchup. I need it now like I need oxygen. The bye week couldn’t come at a worse time, especially since Ohio State will have essentially had back-to-back bye weeks with Purdue and Northwestern. I’d rather face an easy tune-up game than take a week off. But I trust Cignetti to keep his team focused and ready to attack.
No Time for Rust
Coming out of the bye, IU can’t afford to show any signs of rust. Cignetti will have his team more prepared than ever. It’s time to put the pedal to the floor and attack! The future Coach of the Year won’t let his team falter. Bring on Ohio State!
