Championship Bling: A Closer Look at the Boston Celtics’ Historic Rings
The Boston Celtics kicked off their new season in style, receiving their championship rings in a pregame ceremony that was equal parts emotional and extravagant. As the team celebrated their 18th championship banner, they were adorned with jewelry that boasted first-of-its-kind details.
A Collaboration of Excellence
Created in partnership with Jason Arasheben, CEO of Jason of Beverly Hills, the ring is a masterpiece of design and craftsmanship. With 84 points of diamonds on the side bezel, representing the Celtics’ impressive 2024 playoff winning percentage, this ring is truly one of a kind. The word “champions” is emblazoned with 80 white diamonds, paying homage to Boston’s remarkable 80 combined regular season and playoff wins.
Hidden Details and Nods to History
The ring is etched with the TD Garden’s distinct parquet floor pattern on both sides, alongside the years of the Celtics’ previous championship seasons. In a historic first, an NFC chip has been installed in each ring, allowing recipients to reveal a video of the jewelry and its making by placing their phone against the parquet design. Eighteen emerald cut diamonds on the outer bezel represent the franchise’s championships, while 30 points of diamonds in “world” on the face of the ring nod to the seasons Boston has played at TD Garden.
A Legacy of Excellence
Arasheben, who has designed the last four NBA championship rings, has a reputation for incorporating hidden details into his work. The Celtics’ ring is no exception, with a piece of the parquet floor and the date and score of Boston’s clinching game on the inside of the top of the ring. The championship banner and jersey number of each player are also engraved on the other side.
A New Chapter Begins
As the Celtics embark on their quest for a record-extending 19th championship banner, they do so with a renewed sense of purpose and passion. With their eyes firmly fixed on the future, they honor their rich history and legacy with a ring that is truly fit for champions.
