Michigan Lands Top OL Prospect Andrew Babalola in Major Recruiting Coup

Michigan Secures Top Uncommitted Offensive Line Prospect

In a major recruiting coup, Michigan has landed four-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola, the nation’s top uncommitted prospect at his position. Babalola’s pledge gives first-year coach Sherrone Moore a crucial building block for his inaugural recruiting class.

A Highly Coveted Prospect

Babalola, a 6-foot-6, 270-pound blocker from Overland Park, Kansas, is ESPN’s No. 7 offensive tackle and No. 51 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle. He chose Michigan over Stanford, Auburn, Missouri, and Oklahoma, cementing his status as one of the most sought-after prospects in the country.

A Long and Winding Recruitment

Babalola’s recruitment was one of the most closely watched and tight-lipped of the 2025 cycle. He took official visits to Auburn, Missouri, Stanford, Michigan, and Oklahoma in the spring before his senior season at Blue Valley Northwest High School. Despite remaining in contact with each of his finalists this fall, Babalola ultimately decided that Michigan was the best fit for him.

A Key Addition to Michigan’s Class

Babalola’s commitment is a significant boost to Michigan’s 2025 recruiting class, which now boasts eight ESPN 300 pledges. He joins a talented group of prospects, including four-star defensive backs Ivan Taylor and Kainoa Winston, four-star quarterback Carter Smith, and skill position players like wide receivers Andrew Marsh and Jacob Washington, and running back Donovan Johnson.

A High-Ceiling Prospect

Despite playing only his second season as a varsity starter, Babalola is viewed as a high-ceiling, developmental prospect. His impressive frame and athleticism, honed on the AAU basketball circuit, make him one of the most promising offensive tackle prospects in the 2025 class.

What’s Next for Michigan?

With Babalola on board, Michigan will turn its attention to other top targets, including four-star linebacker Nathan Owusu-Boateng. The Wolverines will also work to hold onto their existing commitments, including Taylor, who is being pursued by Alabama. The early signing period begins on December 4, and Michigan will be eager to put the finishing touches on its 2025 recruiting class.
