Meet Cooper Flagg: College Basketball’s Next Dominant Force

Cooper Flagg: The Unstoppable Force in College Basketball

At just 17 years old, Cooper Flagg is already making waves in the college basketball scene. The 6-foot-9 forward has been dominating on the court, and his impressive skills have coaches and opponents alike taking notice.

A Versatile Threat

Flagg’s game is multifaceted, making him a nightmare to defend. He can handle the ball, pass, drive, and shoot with ease. His ability to play both inside and outside makes him a versatile threat that opponents struggle to contain.

“He impacts the game in so many ways that are really not controllable from a scouting standpoint,” says one coach. “That’s why you fear him so much in the college game.”

A Comparison to Scottie Pippen

One coach compares Flagg’s game to that of Scottie Pippen, the legendary Chicago Bulls small forward. “He plays a very complete game,” he says. “Very versatile defender. Really can guard a number of different positions. Excellent shot-blocker and rim protector with his ability to get vertical.”

Off-Ball Effectiveness

Flagg’s effectiveness when he doesn’t have the ball in his hands is what sets him apart from other top players. His ability to slip ball-screens, set ball-screens, and make cuts to the basket makes him nearly unstoppable.

“His combination of feel for the game and high intensity … separates him from everyone else,” says another coach.

Intangibles Give Him an Edge

While Flagg’s skills are undeniable, it’s his intangibles that give him an edge over other players. His passion, work ethic, and relentlessness make him a force to be reckoned with on the court.

“It’s the passion that he displays. He plays hard, he plays to win. Those sorts of things can carry you in college games sometimes,” says one coach.

How to Stop Him?

Coaches are still trying to figure out how to stop Flagg, but it’s clear that it won’t be easy. One coach suggests making everything crowded for him, being in the gaps, and at the rim. Another coach says it’s all about containment and picking your poison.

“I don’t think you can get crazy with sending him left or right or whatever else you’re trying to do,” he says. “With a kid that good, it’s going to be, contain and pick your poison.”

As the college basketball season heats up, all eyes will be on Cooper Flagg. Can anyone stop this unstoppable force? Only time will tell.
