The concept of traditional work hours is a myth, especially in the fast-paced world of online media. At my company, the lines between work and personal life are blurred, and the expectation is to be available 24/7, 365 days a year. While this may not be the norm for everyone, it’s the reality for many in the industry.

Defying Expectations

Recently, I celebrated a personal milestone – 30 days without booze and drugs. To mark the occasion, I shared a progress photo, showcasing the results of my twice-daily workout routine. The response was overwhelmingly positive, but as expected, there were some negative comments. Some critics claimed that my fitness journey was only possible because I had a cushy job with ample free time. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Setting the Record Straight

My workouts are carefully scheduled around my work commitments, not the other way around. I hit the gym from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and again from 4:30 to 6 p.m. These sessions are woven into my daily routine, ensuring I can meet my professional obligations while still prioritizing my health.

The Misconception of Contribution

Some people assume that unless you’re a top performer or have a massive brand, you’re not pulling your weight. This is a damaging misconception. Every individual, regardless of their level of recognition, plays a vital role in the success of the company. I may not be a household name, but I’m dedicated to delivering high-quality work, and my contributions matter.

It’s time to put these misconceptions to rest. Hard work and dedication know no bounds, and it’s essential to recognize the efforts of every team member, regardless of their position or popularity.
