The Dark Side of Public Transportation
As I reflect on my past experiences with long-distance buses, a mix of emotions arises. Last year’s grueling journey from NYC to Chicago still haunts me. The eclectic cast of characters and the overall experience were nothing short of hellish. Fear of falling asleep, fear of using the bathroom, and fear of interacting with fellow passengers made the trip a nightmare. However, not all my bus rides have been disastrous. During college, buses were a reliable means of getting home on weekends.
A Driver’s Reckless Abandon
Fast-forward to this year, and I’m still reeling from a shocking video that has left me speechless. A bus driver’s blatant disregard for a parked car is a sight to behold. At 5 am, on a narrow street, the driver encounters a car parked slightly away from the curb. Instead of taking the high road, he decides to scrape against the car and drive off, leaving a trail of destruction behind. The audacity is staggering. How can a driver so callously destroy someone’s property and get away with it?
A Calculated Move
What’s even more appalling is the driver’s attempt to cover his tracks by committing the act at 5 am, hoping to avoid detection. But, in today’s world of ubiquitous camera phones, his plan backfires. The driver knew exactly what he was doing – leaving the car owner with no recourse but to assume it was a random act of vandalism. This is a scumbag move of epic proportions.
Justice Must Be Served
I can only hope that the bus company takes responsibility for the damages and identifies the driver. It’s imperative that justice is served in this case. The driver’s actions are a stark reminder of the importance of accountability in public transportation. As passengers, we entrust our safety and well-being to drivers like this, and it’s unacceptable when they abuse that trust.
