Unforgettable Divisional Round Weekend
This past weekend’s NFL Playoffs will be etched in our memories forever. Unless, of course, you’re a Ravens or Rams fan, in which case you might want to erase the painful moments from your mind.
The Thrill of Snow Football
There’s a growing sentiment that all stadiums should be domed to ensure consistent conditions and maximize player skills. I wholeheartedly disagree. The elements add an extra layer of suspense and excitement, as evident in Sunday’s snow games. Football is, after all, a euphemism for war, and we must be prepared for anything Mother Nature throws our way.
Ban the Slide, NFL!
For the umpteenth time, I’m calling for the NFL to abolish the slide rule. It’s unrealistic to expect quarterbacks to know exactly when to slide to avoid danger. This puts them in harm’s way, as we saw with Mahomes’ late slide. It’s time for a change.
Lamar Jackson’s Postseason Performance
The debate surrounding Lamar Jackson’s ability to perform in the postseason continues. Despite a costly fumble and interception, he bounced back, finishing with a respectable 114.4 rating. Mark Andrews’ mistakes, including a dropped two-point conversion, can’t be overlooked either. The jury is still out on Lamar’s postseason prowess.
Josh Allen’s Underwhelming Performance
Meanwhile, Josh Allen threw for a mere 127 yards. The Bills’ victory sets up a potential rematch with the Chiefs in Arrowhead, which I’m eagerly anticipating.
Jalen Hurts’ Impressive Playoff Record
Jalen Hurts has now won four playoff games with under 155 yards passing. His ability to play mistake-free football, combined with Saquon Barkley’s impressive performance, helped the Eagles secure a win. The question on everyone’s mind: can this team win the Super Bowl?
Rookie Quarterbacks in the Playoffs
History shows that no rookie quarterback has won a Super Bowl. However, a few have made it to the conference championships. Let’s not forget Kordell Stewart, Shaun King, and Mark Sanchez. And who can forget Elvis Grbac, the rookie Super Bowl winner from 1994? Or Keith Molesworth, the 1933 championship winner?
Bring on Championship Sunday!
The stage is set for an unforgettable Championship Sunday. Will we see a rookie quarterback make history? Only time will tell.
