The Unofficial Poster Dunk Hall of Fame
When it comes to poster dunks in the NBA, we’ve seen it all – from the Ant’s impressive slam over John Collins to Ja Morant’s countless aerial assaults. But what about a vicious poster that comes after the whistle? A dead ball poster that doesn’t count, yet is so awe-inspiring you can’t ignore it?
A New Kind of Poster
That’s exactly what we got in a recent game out of San Antonio. Ja Morant unleashed a nasty dunk that left us all speechless. The question is, should it count as a poster? Technically, the play was dead, but both players were still engaged, and the dunk was simply too incredible to dismiss.
The Wemby Factor
Victor Wembanyama is a giant of a man and an incredible rim protector. It’s only a matter of time before someone tries to get one over on him. And when they do, it’ll be a badge of honor. We almost saw it happen with Coby White, but he was a half-step late. Ja Morant, on the other hand, pulled off the perfect poster.
Ja Morant: The Lying King
Remember when Ja said he was giving up dunking? Yeah, about that… It seems he’s been doing a lot of “not dunking” lately. And we couldn’t be happier about it. Ja Morant’s in-game dunks are a thing of beauty, making him must-watch TV.
The IST – Instant Social Media Thrill
While we can’t officially count this dunk as the Dunk of the Year, we can certainly appreciate its greatness. It’s like the IST – we all saw it happen, but it won’t be recorded in the NBA history books. That’s a shame, because it’s a dunk that deserves to be remembered.
The Future of Posters
One thing’s for sure – Ja Morant will continue to thrill us with his aerial antics. And who knows, maybe someone will finally get one over on Wemby. When they do, we’ll be here to celebrate it.
