The Unconventional Holiday Habits of a Rock Legend
Ozzy Osbourne, the 76-year-old Black Sabbath frontman, has never been one to conform to traditional norms. His approach to the holiday season is no exception. In a recent interview, Ozzy revealed a shocking way he used to cope with the stress of Christmas, a time of year he candidly admits “gets right up my a–hole.”
A Boozy Christmas Past
During his struggles with addiction, Ozzy would purchase a 28-gallon barrel of booze to get him through the holiday season. Incredibly, he would polish off the entire contents before Christmas Eve even arrived. This excessive behavior is a far cry from the festive cheer many associate with the holidays.
A Reluctant Family Man
Ozzy shares three children with his wife Sharon Osbourne: Aimee, Kelly, and Jack. However, he’s not exactly enthusiastic about forced family fun during the holidays. In fact, he’s quite open about his disdain for Christmas, stating, “I f–king hate Christmas.” It seems Ozzy is not alone in his sentiments, as many adults can relate to the stress and pressure of navigating family dynamics during the holiday season.
A Life of Excess
While Ozzy’s holiday drinking habits may be a thing of the past, he’s still not completely sober. In a recent podcast episode, he admitted to using marijuana from time to time. His wife Sharon has been instrumental in keeping him in check, often disposing of his stash when she finds it. However, Ozzy’s recent visit to the doctor’s office introduced him to a new substance: ketamine. He claims it had a profound effect on him, sparking a renewed interest.
A Life of Defiance
Despite his well-documented struggles with addiction, Ozzy shows no signs of slowing down. With a lifetime of excess behind him, it’s a wonder he’s still going strong. Perhaps it’s time for him to take a step back and reevaluate his priorities. Then again, at 76, Ozzy has earned the right to live life on his own terms. As he so eloquently put it, “You’ve made it this far, drugs obviously aren’t going to kill you, it’ll probably be something else.”
