A Bold Statement or a Blunder?
When I first saw the clip of Shedeur Sanders’ conversation with Shilo Sanders, I couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow. It seemed like Shedeur was under the impression that the New York Giants couldn’t trade down from the number one overall pick. “You can’t get higher than 1,” he said confidently. But, Shedeur, what about trading back? The Giants can certainly move down the draft order if they choose to.
Giving Him the Benefit of the Doubt
I’m willing to give Shedeur the benefit of the doubt, though. Maybe it was just a slip of the tongue or a joke that fell flat. Perhaps he’s had conversations with someone in the Giants organization who assured him they’d be selecting him with their first overall pick. He must have, right? I mean, Shedeur Sanders is known for his confidence, but he’s not foolish enough to bring Giants cleats to a game unless he was absolutely certain.
The Power of Manifestation?
Or maybe, just maybe, Shedeur has been reading up on the law of attraction. You know, the idea that if you live your life as if you’ve already achieved your goals, the universe will conspire to make it happen. It’s possible he’s trying to manifest himself as the number one overall draft pick. And, so far, it seems to be working.
The Mysterious Case of the Giants Cleats
But here’s the thing: I couldn’t find any evidence of Shedeur actually wearing those custom Giants cleats. He didn’t wear them during the game, and it doesn’t seem like he even wore them during warmups. Yet, the minute those cleats entered the Colorado Buffaloes’ locker room, it was as if the team was overcome by the spirit of the New York Giants. The kicker missed his only attempt, and everyone except Travis Hunter looked like they belonged in the NFL.
A Hell of a Ride
Shedeur Sanders’ antics may have been entertaining, but they also came with a price. Colorado’s offense was stripped of its talent, and the team’s performance suffered as a result. Still, it was a wild ride while it lasted. But, Shedeur, be careful what you wish for in the NFL. You might just get it.
