New Year, New Movies: January’s Streaming Lineup Revealed
As the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve, many of us will be cozied up on the couch, ready to binge-watch our favorite films and shows. But before you get comfortable, take a peek at what’s coming to your favorite streaming platforms in January.
Netflix Kicks Off the New Year
On January 1st, Netflix is adding a mix of old and new titles to its roster. Get ready to revisit classics like “13 Going on 30,” “Apollo 13,” and “Love Actually.” If you’re in the mood for something more recent, “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent” starring Nicolas Cage arrives on January 16th. And, after a long hiatus, Cameron Diaz makes her comeback in “Back in Action” on January 17th.
What’s Leaving Netflix
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. On January 1st, say goodbye to “3:10 to Yuma,” “8 Mile,” and “American Gangster,” among others. If you haven’t watched “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” yet, you have until January 27th to catch it before it disappears.
Max Brings the Heat
On January 1st, Max is adding a slew of action-packed movies, including “Batman: Mask of the Phantasm” and “Mad Max.” If you’re in the mood for something lighter, “Crazy Rich Asians” and “Paddington” are also joining the lineup. Later in the month, “Uncharted” arrives on January 15th, followed by “Harley Quinn” Season 5 on January 16th.
Hulu’s January Additions
Hulu is kicking off the new year with a bang, adding a range of thrillers and comedies on January 1st. Catch “American Psycho,” “Heat,” and “John Wick 1-3” before the month is out. On January 28th, the new series “Paradise” premieres, starring James Marsden as a fictional U.S. president.
Prime Video’s January Lineup
Prime Video is bringing the drama in January, with additions like “American Sniper,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” and “The Social Network” on January 1st. Later in the month, “The Fall Guy” arrives on January 2nd, followed by “Monk” on January 15th. And, on January 30th, get ready to laugh with “Friday Night Lights,” “Knocked Up,” and “Scarface.”
