Playoff Pledges and Punishments: A Football Frenzy

The Bets That Bind: A Playoff Punishment Saga

As the playoffs approach, I’m reminded of a list of bets I crafted back in August, fueled by the optimism that comes with having the best collection of football players money can buy. The internet loved it, but reality had other plans. I’m still recovering from the 320 Peeps I had to devour during my New York trip.

A Clarification on Free Labor

Let’s set the record straight: I won’t be taking any flak for not working for free for a year. That bet came with an asterisk, pending a double-or-nothing wager with Dave, which he wisely declined. To those claiming I owe them a punishment or should work for free regardless, let’s just say you’re misinformed.

Punishments Revived

However, I’ve decided to revive the punishment tradition throughout the playoffs, starting with this weekend’s Tennessee game. Here’s what’s at stake: if we lose, I’ll acquire a Vols jersey and a Power T flag between December 22nd and 25th. Then, I’ll venture to Columbus to plant that flag on the statehouse steps, accompanied by a swig of moonshine.

A Confident Outlook

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not worried about the outcome. We’re going to win this game, and then we’ll head to the Rose Bowl to face the undefeated #1 team in the country in a thrilling Peeps Revenge Game. The stage is set for an epic showdown.
