College Football Conference Championship Weekend: Get Ready for Action
It’s hard to believe, but Conference Championship Weekend is already upon us! The college football season has flown by, and now it’s time to crown the champions. Tonight, three exciting title games will kick off the weekend, and we’re here to break down the matchups and make some picks.
Conference USA Championship: Western Kentucky at Jacksonville State
Rich Rodriguez’s Jacksonville State squad is looking to cap off an impressive comeback season with a title win. They face off against Western Kentucky, a team they’ve already beaten 19-17 just last week. However, don’t count out the Gamecocks’ chances of repeating their victory. With QB Tyler Huff and RB Tre Stewart leading the charge, Jacksonville State’s offense is capable of putting up big numbers. Add in the fact that they’re playing at home, and it’s hard to see Western Kentucky pulling off the upset. Jacksonville State 34, Western Kentucky 23
Mountain West Championship: UNLV at Boise State
This one’s a massive game, folks! The winner will clinch a spot in the College Football Playoffs and earn the #4 seed. Boise State is favored by 4.5 points, but we think UNLV might have what it takes to pull off the upset. QB Haji-Malik Williams has been a dual-threat nightmare for opponents, and WR Ricky White has racked up over 1,000 yards receiving. Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty is a Heisman candidate, but UNLV’s defense has been stingy all season. Boise State 31, UNLV 27
AAC Championship: Tulane at Army
Tulane may have blown their shot at hosting this game, but they’re still looking strong heading into the AAC Championship. Freshman QB Dario Mensah and RB Makhi Hughes lead a solid offense, while the defense has been lights out under coach Jon Sumrall. Army’s option offense has been impressive all season, but Tulane’s defense has a history of shutting down option attacks. Tulane 23, Army 7
