The Battle for Chart Supremacy
Warner Music has declared all-out war on Dave Portnoy, and it’s getting ugly. After repeatedly removing his song “Smallest Man” from every platform, Dave headed back to the studio in Miami to re-record vocals and thumb his nose at Warner Music. The new version, cleverly titled “Dave’s Version” – a nod to Taylor Swift’s similar move – is still being taken down for DMCA violations, despite not featuring Josh Richards, whose recording rights are owned by Warner.
The Kitchen Sink Approach
It’s clear that Bryan’s label is throwing everything they’ve got at Dave to prevent “Smallest Man” from seeing the light of day, let alone charting. This must be their worst nightmare, and they’re pulling out all the stops to silence Dave. But Dave is not one to back down from a fight.
Enter “Country Diddy”
While re-recording “Smallest Man”, Rone whipped up another scathing track, “Country Diddy”, which dropped just minutes ago and is already racking up insane views on YouTube. The lines are even more incendiary than the artwork, with talk of STDs, dirty dick “discharge”, and forcing ex-girlfriends to sign NDAs. But one of the most explosive claims is that Zach Bryan allegedly wrote his hit song “Pink Skies” based on the life of Grace O’Malley, a friend of Bri’s who Zach notoriously disliked.
The Score is Now 2-0 Portnoy
With “Country Diddy” dropping like a nuclear bomb, the score is officially 2-0 in favor of Dave Portnoy. Zach Bryan is flirting with disaster, letting Dave drop diss tracks back-to-back without response. It’s a precarious position to be in – respond and risk escalating the beef, or stay silent and look weak.
The Diss Track Arsenal
According to Dave’s recent appearance on the Backstage Podcast, Rone has pages upon pages of diss tracks ready to go. This is a war of attrition, and Dave won’t quit until he’s exhausted his arsenal. Zach Bryan is officially on notice – respond, or risk being forever silenced by the onslaught of diss tracks. One thing is certain: only one man can emerge victorious from this battle for chart supremacy.
