New Recruit Alert: Coach Gruden’s Team Takes Shape
The pirate ship has a new captain at the helm, and Coach Gruden is wasting no time in assembling his dream team. Today, the entire office gathered in front of the coach to showcase their skills and vie for a spot on the roster.
A Broward County Native’s Confidence
As a proud representative of Broward County, I knew I had an edge over the competition. Any seasoned football coach worth their salt knows that athletes from Broward County bring a certain level of talent and dedication to the field. I mean, who needs to prove themselves when you’re part of a legacy that includes the Bosa brothers, Calvin Ridley, Jerry Jeudy, Anthony Rizzo, and yours truly, Nicky Smokes?
A Familiar Face
It turns out that Coach Gruden and I have a history. He was one of the coaches at a 7-on-7 tournament I participated in at the University of South Florida, where I scored a touchdown, naturally. It’s no surprise that I made the cut, given my impressive athletic background and the coach’s prior knowledge of my skills.
The Cutting Room Floor
Not everyone was as fortunate, however. Big T, despite his impressive size 17 shoes, failed to impress the coach and was sent packing. It’s hard to believe that someone with such physical attributes couldn’t make the team as an offensive lineman. Meanwhile, Jersey Jerry’s lack of height and vertical jump sealed his fate. Coach Gruden isn’t looking for clicks; he’s building a winning team.
Words of Encouragement
To those who didn’t make the team, don’t be discouraged. There’s always next year to prove yourselves. For now, it’s back to the drawing board to work on those three-point stances and vertical jumps.
