Monkey Business Unleashed in South Carolina
A shocking incident has unfolded in Yemassee, South Carolina, where 43 Rhesus macaque monkeys escaped from a medical research facility. According to Yemassee Police Chief Gregory Alexander, the primates are harmless and not infected with any diseases. However, their escape has raised concerns among locals and sparked a massive recapture effort.

The monkeys broke free from the Alpha Genesis facility on Wednesday when a new employee failed to properly secure an enclosure. The company usually handles escapes internally, but this time, the primates managed to venture outside the compound, approximately 1 mile from downtown Yemassee.

Alpha Genesis has taken the lead in rounding up the escaped monkeys, employing thermal imaging cameras and traps to track them down. Police Chief Alexander urged residents to keep their windows and doors shut to prevent the monkeys from seeking shelter inside. If spotted, citizens are advised to call 911 to report the sighting.
