TGL Golf League Set to Tee Off in January
The world of golf is about to get a whole lot more exciting with the launch of the TGL presented by SoFi, a tech-infused golf league featuring some of the biggest names in the sport. The inaugural season is set to kick off on January 7, with a match between New York Golf Club and The Bay Golf Club.
A New Era in Golf
The TGL is the brainchild of Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, who are looking to shake things up in the world of golf. The league will feature a unique format, with two-hour matches that are perfect for prime time television. The Teams
The TGL will feature six teams, each with a roster of talented players. Woods’ Jupiter Links Golf Club will face off against Los Angeles Golf Club in the second match of the season, while McIlroy’s Boston Common Golf will take on Woods’ team in the fourth match. Other teams competing in the league include New York Golf Club, The Bay Golf Club, Atlanta Drive GC, and Los Angeles Golf Club.
The Schedule
The TGL will feature 15 regular-season matches, each airing on either ESPN or ESPN2 and streaming on ESPN+. The season will culminate in a Presidents Day tripleheader on February 17, followed by the semifinals on March 17-18. The winners will compete for the SoFi Cup in a best-of-three finals on March 24-25.
