“Valencia Fans Erupt in Protest as Lim’s Ownership Sparks Fury”

Fan Fury Erupts in Valencia

Thousands of Valencia fans took to the streets on Monday to protest against the club’s owner, Peter Lim, and the reported detention of two fans in Singapore. The demonstrations, which took place before and after the team’s 3-2 loss to Las Palmas in LaLiga, were the latest expression of discontent with Lim’s management of the club.

A History of Unrest

Valencia fans have been protesting Lim’s ownership for years, ever since the millionaire businessman bought the club in 2014. Supporters feel that Lim’s absentee ownership has led to a decline in the team’s fortunes, and tensions have been simmering for some time. The recent detention of Dani Cuesta and his wife in Singapore, reportedly for holding up anti-Lim signs, has only added fuel to the fire.

A Promising Start, But…

The game against Las Palmas got off to a promising start for Valencia, with Pepelu scoring from the penalty spot after just 14 minutes. However, the lead was short-lived, as Alex Muñoz equalized for Las Palmas three minutes before halftime. The visitors took the lead early in the second half, thanks to a goal from Fábio Silva, and things only got worse for Valencia from there.

Red Card and Late Rally

Pepelu was sent off for an off-the-ball incident after 69 minutes, and Alberto Moleiro added a third goal for Las Palmas soon after. While César Tárrega managed to score a consolation goal for Valencia in stoppage time, it was too little, too late. The defeat left Valencia at the bottom of the La Liga table, with just one win in 10 matches.

A Surprise Win for Las Palmas

For Las Palmas, the victory was a welcome surprise, marking their first win of the season and their first in La Liga since February. The three points lifted them above Valencia in the table, and they will be hoping to build on this momentum in the weeks to come.
