Liberty Coach Sandy Brondello Unleashes Frustration
Brondello was vocal about her discontent with the officials, citing a significant disparity in foul calls between the two teams. “If we’re getting hit, it’s a bloody foul,” she exclaimed. “I know Cheryl [Reeve] talked about it last time, but we got no calls today. So do I need to talk up in a press conference? Because they were getting ticky-tacks, and we went down there and got hit and got nothing.”
The statistics support Brondello’s claims, with the Lynx receiving 20 trips to the free throw line compared to the Liberty’s 9. This imbalance proved crucial in the game’s final moments, as Bridget Carleton’s successful free throws sealed the win for Minnesota.
