Jets Hold Firm: Garrett Wilson Not on the Trade Block

NFL Trade Rumors: Garrett Wilson Staying Put with Jets

The New York Jets’ recent acquisition of star wide receiver Davante Adams has sparked interest from other NFL teams inquiring about the availability of fellow receiver Garrett Wilson. However, according to league sources, the Jets are not planning to trade Wilson, despite receiving offers from interested teams.

Why Teams Want Wilson

It’s no surprise that teams are vying for Wilson’s services, given his impressive performance this season. The 2022 offensive rookie of the year has 41 receptions for 399 yards and three touchdowns, making him a valuable asset to any team. Additionally, Wilson is expected to land a lucrative contract in the near future, as the market for wide receivers continues to explode.

Jets Listening to Offers for Mike Williams

While Wilson is off the table, the Jets are reportedly listening to offers for veteran wide receiver Mike Williams. Williams did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday due to personal reasons but is expected to play on Sunday night against the Steelers. Two teams, the Steelers and the Chargers, are said to be interested in acquiring Williams, who played for the Chargers for seven years.

Williams’ Future Uncertain

Williams’ role with the Jets is uncertain, especially after the team traded for Adams. When asked if he wanted to be traded, Williams sidestepped the question, saying he was “excited” to have Adams on the team. However, with the Jets holding onto Williams for now, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the veteran receiver.

Wilson Unfazed by Adams’ Arrival

Meanwhile, Wilson seems unfazed by the arrival of Adams, saying he’s not worried about losing targets. “Nah, at the end of the day, if I do lose a few targets, that’s fine,” Wilson said. “I got 22 the other day [in Week 5]. It don’t take that many to get where I want to get.” With Adams on board, the Jets’ offense is expected to get a boost, and Wilson is looking forward to playing alongside one of his favorite players growing up.

As the NFL trade deadline approaches, teams will continue to make moves to strengthen their rosters. For now, Garrett Wilson is staying put with the Jets, while Mike Williams’ future remains uncertain.
