Ferrari Revs Up Constructors’ Championship Hopes
AUSTIN – Charles Leclerc’s dominant win at the U.S. Grand Prix has injected new life into Ferrari’s constructors’ championship aspirations. With a convincing one-two finish alongside teammate Carlos Sainz, Leclerc is confident that Ferrari can claim its first constructors’ title since 2008.
A Positive Step Forward
The Italian team’s strong performance at Circuit of the Americas suggests that the recent upgrade has paid dividends. Leclerc’s victory has propelled Ferrari into second place in the championship, just 40 points behind leaders McLaren. The Monegasque driver believes that this momentum can be sustained, saying, “We’ve got to target winning the constructors’ title. It’s an optimistic goal, but that’s what we’re here for.”
Focus on Consistency
Leclerc acknowledges that winning the constructors’ title will require consistent performances throughout the remainder of the season. “We will do the math like any other season, but until then, the best thing we can do is focus on ourselves, on our own performance, just like we did this weekend,” he explained. With two one-two finishes this season, Ferrari is demonstrating the potential to challenge for the top spot.
Drivers’ Title a Long Shot
While Leclerc is optimistic about Ferrari’s constructors’ championship chances, he is more cautious about his own drivers’ title prospects. Trailing Max Verstappen by 79 points, Leclerc recognizes that a significant amount of luck would be required to bridge the gap. “If we do everything perfect, it will require a bit of luck to get that title. We cannot really rely on luck,” he admitted.
Believing Until the End
Despite the odds, Leclerc refuses to give up on his drivers’ title aspirations. “I will believe it until it’s mathematically impossible,” he said. While the task may seem daunting, Leclerc’s determination and Ferrari’s improving form suggest that anything is possible in the world of Formula 1.
